Image Description |
This black and white stereograph/ stereoview depicts the Church Family from the southwest, across the Blacksmith's Field. A dry stone wall runs across the foreground of the picture. A hollowed-out log lies next to the wall and is used as a watering trough. On the west side of the road one can see (from left to right): the Cart Shed, the Red Building, the Trustees' Building, and the Coal House and Blacksmith's Shop. There is a Norway Spruce behind the Trustees' Building. Behind the Blacksmith's Shop is an orchard, and there is a fenced garden to the south of the building. Across the Road (from left to right) one can see the Infirmary, Brethren's South Shop, Cheese House, Boy's Shop and North Shop (behind), Second Dwelling House, Sister's Shop (behind), Meeting House, and Ministry. There are no trees planted along Meeting House Lane, though there is a neat, white painted fence. There are also no trees along Shaker Road. "2" is inscribed in pencil at the center of the top margin on the front. Printed on the front at each margin is "Clough & Kimball, Concord, N.H." The back is inscribed with Label #1 , which is pasted on to the cardboard (the front of which is blue). |
