Image Description |
This black and white photograph depicts Sister Alice Howland tending to her bees outside the south facade of the Ministry Stable. She wears a straw hat with netting over her face and eyeglasses. She also wears a dress with a long coat and thick leather gloves. Alice holds a honey comb swarmed with bees in her hands and looks toward the camera. She stands on a bead-board platform that is covered with bee boxes. The building behind her has a steep north-south gable roof with flagpole (?) at the ridge, 1/1 attic window, and south porch. It is sheathed in clapboards. A fence covered in vines is at the southeast corner of the building. |
