This black and white negative depicts the cast of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer's Night Dream" on Meeting House Lane. There is one Sister on the left with seventeen children in assorted costumes. The Shaker Sister stands with three roses in her hands and wears a cap and headband with a Shaker Dress. Bertha Lindsay is the fourth figure from the left and is dressed as a wizard. Marguerite Frost is standing third from the right. The other children are dressed as nymphs, bees, a bird, flowers, and fairies. There are flowers in an urn next to Bertha. Leona Merrill (bee at the front), Alice "Muriel" Hewitt (fairy at the front), and Eva Colby (behind Bertha) are in the photograph. Evelyn Polsey stands at back left. |
