This black and white negative depicts three Shaker sisters sitting with Grace Sims and Ralph Winters at New Years 1952. They are in the Dining Hall of the Basement of the Dwelling House, Floor 0, Room 42. The south wall has shades at the windows and two landscape paintings. The shelf below the windows is laden with greeting cards. Grace Sims wears a jacket and skirt. Mr. Winters wears glasses with a suit and tie. Between them sits Eldress Emma King. The sisters wear glasses, caps, and printed dresses with matching berthas. The tables contain placemats, napkins, candleholders with lit candles, clear drinking glasses, plates, and silverware/ flatware, silverplate pie servers, vegetable dishes, and a silverplate spoon holder. |
